How to install Softaculous on linux dedicated server with cPanel

You can install apps with just a few clicks using Softaculous, an auto installer. Applications such as content management systems, blogs, polls, forums, e-commerce platforms, and web portals can be installed. It is simple to make backups of the installed applications.

With our cPanel shared hosting plans, Softaculous is free to use. It is very simple to install on VPS and dedicated servers. There are currently 303 updated applications on it, and more are added on a regular basis. You can view the application list by going here.

To install Softaculous you should have root access to your server. Before you start Softaculous installation, make sure cPanel is installed and IonCube loaders are enabled. Please go through the guide to Enable/Install IonCube cPanel.

Access your server via SSH and execute below commands:

# cd /usr/local/src
# wget -N http://files.softaculous.com/install.sh
# chmod 755 install.sh
# ./install.sh

It will install Softaculous on your dedicated server. You can now manage and conifgure softaculous by logging to WHM >> Plugins >> Softaculous – Instant Installs.

You can install and administer a restricted number of applications with the Free Softaculous license. On the other hand, you can access every application under the resource with the Premium license.
