How to configure SMTP settings in OpenCart

By default, OpenCart sends emails from the dashboard using the PHP mail() function. This is a fantastic built-in function that enables you to email prospects and customers about new items, deals, promotions, etc. You want to think about configuring SMTP for every email that is sent out in order to enhance email delivery. SMTP would significantly enhance email delivery and reduce key email bounce rates.

To configure SMTP settings, login to the OpenCart admin dashboard and follow the below steps:

Step 1: Go to Settings section from the main menu.

Step 2: Click Edit button and navigate to the Mail tab.

Step 3: Change the Mail Protocol from Mail to SMTP.

Fill the following details:

SMTP Host:
SMTP Username:
SMTP Password:
SMTP Port:
SMTP Timeout:

Save the mail settings and test the outgoing emails.
