Does Hostevnto Hosting support Emacs?

We do support Emacs, yes. But it is not installed on every one of our servers. Use the following command to find out if Emacs is installed on your server:

Copyls /usr/bin/emacs*

If Emacs is installed, you see a file named /usr/bin/emacs-xx.y, where xx.y represents the version number.

If your server does not have Emacs installed, please open a support ticket on the Hostvento Hosting. We will install it for you.

You can link to the executable binary from your home bin directory once Emacs is installed. Enter the following command to accomplish this. Substitute the version number installed on your server (e.g., 23.1) for xx.y:

Copyln -s /usr/bin/emacs-xx.y ~/bin/emacs

All you need to do to launch Emacs now is type the following command:
