How To Setup Private Nameservers For VPS And Dedicated Servers?

You can register your own nameservers if you own a VPS or a dedicated server (ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com).

Obtaining IP addresses to point your domain nameservers at is the first step.

Your welcome email will contain the IP addresses; if not, please get in touch with our support staff at any time.

You may register the nameservers with your domain registrar after you have the IPs.

If Hostvento has registered your domain, proceed as directed here.

For help with nameservers, please get in touch with the firm that registered your domain name.

You will need to configure the nameservers on the server after they are registered. To do it, take the actions listed below:

1. Login to WHM and >> ‘DNS functions’ section >> Edit DNS zone menu
2. From the drop down list, select the domain name you would like to set the nameservers for and click on ‘Edit’
3. Update the ‘SOA record’ stating your primary nameserver and the email address

If you want the private nameservers to be automatically applied for all the new cPanel accounts and you also need to set them for all the addons before adding them to cPanel:

Go to ‘Basic cPanel and WHM setup’ in WHM >> and add your personal nameservers
