Steps to Change the Default Unmask for Apache/PHP

The PHP/Apache umask checks the server for newly generated files’ permissions. Changes to the umask need root access, which is limited to dedicated hosting plans lacking Geeky features and a Performance Booster.

For changing the umask, open the following file:

/usr/local/apache/bin/envvars

Inside it, add the below line:

umask 022

With this the default permissions to 022 will be set. Restart the Apache service on the server, for the change to take effect.
