Using the IP Deny Manager in cPanel to Block or Unblock IP Address or a Domain

This cPanel knowledge base article explains how to utilize the IP Deny Manager to prevent IP addresses or a certain domain from seeing your website. This capability may be used, for instance, to ban users who leave spam comments on your blog entries or bring spam traffic to your website.

Blocking an IP address or a domain

To block an IP address or a domain in the IP Deny Manager, follow these steps:

1. In the Security section of the main screen of cPanel, click IP Deny Manager.
2. In the IP address or domain text box, type the IP address or a domain that you want to block.
3. Click Add.

Unlocking an IP address or a domain

You can unlock an IP address or a domain that you have blocked previously.

To unlock an IP address or domain in the IP Deny Manager, follow these steps:

1. In the Security section of the main screen of cPanel, click IP Deny Manager.
2. Locate the IP address you want to unlock and then click the red X.
3. Click Remove IP to confirm.
