How to create short link in WordPress

In the past, WordPress had a Get Shortlink button next to the permalink area of the classic editor, which made it easy to create a short link to a blog post or page. This function is no longer available. Tiny urls, or short links, are the best for sharing on social media because of the length restriction. More helpful material may be incorporated in a shortened URL, which helps increase traffic and engagement to your WordPress website. Installing and configuring Pretty Links plugin

To install and configure  Pretty Links Plugin, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your WordPress site with an administrator account.
2. On the Dashboard in the left sidebar, click Plugins, and then click Add New:

4. Search for “Preety Links” click Install, and then click Activate the plugin:
   
5. On the Dashboard in the left sidebar, click on Pretty Links, and then click on Add New to add a new tiny or short URL:
   
6. Fill the name, target url and pretty link (short link):
   
7. Click on the Update button to activate the short link. Use the copy icon to copy the link and share it on social media:
   
8. The free edition allows you to view the number of clicks on the page and copy the short link from the dashboard.
