What does the message mean?
Every server has an IP address. An IP address is like a home address for a device on the internet. Your internet connection has one too.
A blacklist is a "do not allow" list. If your IP address is on it, the server turns you away. A firewall is a guard program that decides who may connect. Firewalls add an address to the blacklist when they see something that looks risky.
Common reasons are:
- Typing a wrong password many times.
- Sending too many requests in a short time.
- Using a computer that has a virus.
- Sharing an address with someone who did something risky.
The block is not always forever. The guard often only wants to protect the server.
Steps to fix it
- Wait a little while. Some blocks lift by themselves after a short time.
- Check that your own device is safe. Run a virus scan on your computer.
- Find your public IP address. Visit a "what is my IP" website, or ask your internet provider.
- Write the IP address down. Support needs it to find the block.
- Log in to the client area at https://secure.hostvento.com/clientarea.php. If you cannot reach it, try from a different network, such as your phone's mobile data.
- Open a support ticket at https://secure.hostvento.com/submitticket.php.
- In the ticket, include your IP address, the exact message, the time it happened and what you were doing.
- Wait for the support team to check and remove the block if it is safe.
Tip: Do not keep retrying your password over and over. Each failed try can make the block last longer.
How to avoid it next time
- Save your passwords in a password manager so you type them correctly.
- Use a strong, unique password for every account.
- Keep your computer and apps up to date.
- Avoid running tools that send hundreds of requests at once.
Quick recap
- "Blacklisted" means a server blocked your IP address.
- Reasons include wrong passwords, many requests or a virus.
- Scan your device and note your IP address.
- Open a ticket with the IP, time and message.
- Do not keep retrying while blocked.
