What is an upgrade?

A hosting plan is like a rented space for your website. An upgrade moves you to a bigger plan with more room or power, like moving to a larger flat. You keep your website. Your files usually stay in place.

When should you upgrade?

  • Your site is slow when many people visit.
  • You see messages about limits or a full disk.
  • You want to host more websites.
  • Your site has grown and needs more resources.

Before you start

  1. Make a backup of your website and database. A backup is a saved copy you can restore if something goes wrong.
  2. Know which plan you want. Plan names and details are shown in your client area.

Steps

  1. Open the client area and log in.
  2. Click Services in the menu, then My Services.
  3. Click the hosting service you want to change.
  4. On the service page, look for an option named Upgrade/Downgrade or Upgrade. It is often in the left side menu or in an actions box.
  5. Choose the new plan from the list.
  6. Pick how often you want to pay, if the page asks.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Read the order summary. It shows the cost of the change.
  9. Choose a payment method.
  10. Click Checkout and finish the payment.

After payment, the new plan is usually applied for you. You may receive an email when it is done.

If you do not see an upgrade option

Some services cannot be changed from the client area. In that case, open a support ticket. Tell us your domain name and the plan you want. Support can tell you what is possible and what the change will cost.

After the upgrade

  1. Open your website and check that it loads.
  2. Log in to the control panel and check your new limits.
  3. Check your email for any note about changes.
Tip: Look at your welcome email or the invoice to confirm the details of the change. Ask support about anything that is unclear.

Quick recap

  • Upgrade when your site needs more room or power.
  • Back up first.
  • Use Services, then My Services, then Upgrade in the client area.
  • Pay the invoice and test your site.
  • Open a ticket if the option is missing.
