Website hosting cost in India: a 2026 price guide

Hosting prices in India run from under ₹100 a month to several thousand. The range is wide because the word hosting covers very different products. This guide explains what each type costs and what a small business should budget.
Cost by type of hosting
- Shared hosting: about ₹60 to ₹400 a month. One server is shared by many websites. Enough for most company websites and blogs.
- WordPress hosting: usually the same price range as shared hosting, with WordPress prepared for you.
- Reseller hosting: about ₹600 to ₹4,000 a month. For designers who host client websites.
- VPS hosting: about ₹500 to ₹3,000 a month for common sizes. Reserved CPU and RAM with root access.
- Dedicated server: ₹5,000 a month and above. A whole physical machine.

Five costs that are easy to miss
- Renewal price. The advertised price is often for the first term only. Read the renewal price before you pay.
- Term length. The lowest monthly figure usually needs payment for 3 or 4 years in advance.
- Domain renewal. A free domain is free for the first year. From the second year you pay the normal renewal fee.
- SSL, backups and email. Some hosts sell these as add-ons. Check that they are in the plan.
- GST. Indian hosts that are registered for GST add 18% to the listed price.
A yearly budget for a small business website
Take a shop or service business in Maharashtra with one website and five email addresses.
- Hosting, entry plan on a 1 year term: about ₹1,900 a year
- Domain renewal (.in or .com): about ₹700 to ₹1,200 a year
- SSL certificate: ₹0 when the hosting plan includes it
- Total: roughly ₹2,600 to ₹3,100 a year
On a 3 year term the hosting part falls to about ₹830 a year. The website design is a separate, one-time cost.
When to pay more
Move from shared hosting to a larger plan or a VPS when the website slows down during busy hours, when you run an online store with daily orders, or when you need software that shared hosting does not allow.
