How to transfer a domain
- Check that the domain is more than 60 days old and was not transferred in the last 60 days.
- At your current registrar, unlock the domain and turn off privacy protection for the transfer.
- Request the transfer code. It is also called an EPP code or auth code.
- Start the transfer on our order page and enter the code.
- Approve the confirmation email. The transfer completes within five to seven days.
During the transfer, nameservers do not change, so the website and email keep working.

Will my website go down?
No. Nameservers stay the same during a transfer.
Do I lose the time left on my domain?
No. For most extensions, including .com and .in, remaining time is kept.
Why did my transfer fail?
The usual causes are a locked domain, a wrong transfer code, or a domain that is less than 60 days old.
