What is content in Drupal?
Drupal is a program for building websites. Each page, article or post you write is a piece of content. Lists of content, like your front page, show these pieces in a set order. Menus and blocks also have an order.
Way 1: Make a post stick to the top
This keeps an important post first on the front page.
- Log in to your Drupal admin area.
- Click Content in the top toolbar.
- Click Edit on the post you want at the top.
- Find Promotion options in the side panel.
- Tick Promoted to front page and Sticky at top of lists.
- Click Save.
Way 2: Change the order of menu links
A menu is the list of links at the top or side of your site.
- Go to Structure, then Menus.
- Click Edit menu by the menu you want, such as Main navigation.
- Drag the little cross icon next to a link up or down.
- Click Save.
Way 3: Change the order of blocks
A block is a box of content, like a search box or a list of news.
- Go to Structure, then Block layout. In older versions it is Structure then Blocks.
- Find the region that holds the blocks, such as Sidebar.
- Drag the blocks up or down using the cross icon.
- Click Save blocks.
Way 4: Change the sort of a list view
Many lists are made with a tool called Views. Go to Structure, then Views. Click Edit on the list. Under Sort criteria, add or change the rule, such as newest first. Click Save.
Warning: Views controls many parts of a site. Take a backup before you change it.
