What are these tools?
A database is a place that stores your website's data in tables. A table is like a spreadsheet page. There are different kinds of database software.
- MySQL is the most common kind. Many sites, including WordPress, use it.
- PostgreSQL is another kind. Some apps need it. People often call it Postgres.
Each one has a web tool so you can manage it with clicks.
- phpMyAdmin manages MySQL databases.
- phpPgAdmin manages PostgreSQL databases.
cPanel is the control panel of your hosting account.
Open phpMyAdmin
- Log in to your client area at secure.hostvento.com.
- Open your hosting service from the Services menu.
- Click the button to log in to cPanel. Or use the cPanel login details from your welcome email.

- Scroll to the Databases section.
- Click phpMyAdmin.
A new tab opens. You are logged in already. Your databases are listed on the left.
Open phpPgAdmin
Your PostgreSQL databases show on the left. Click one to open its tables.
Tip: Cannot see phpPgAdmin? PostgreSQL may not be on your plan. Ask Hostvento support whether it is available for you.
What you can do inside
- Look at tables and rows.
- Run SQL commands. SQL is the language for talking to databases.
- Export a backup and import a file.
- Edit or delete rows.
Warning: Deleting tables or rows removes data for good. Take a backup first.
If you cannot open them
Try another browser or clear your cookies. Check that pop-ups are allowed, as the tools open in a new tab. If it still fails, open a support ticket.
Quick recap
- phpMyAdmin is for MySQL. phpPgAdmin is for PostgreSQL.
- Find both in the Databases section of cPanel.
- Log in to cPanel from your client area first.
