What is a control panel?
A control panel is a dashboard for your hosting. It is like the dashboard of a car. From one screen you can reach your files, emails, databases and settings.
You do not need to be an expert. Everything is done with buttons and menus.
Before you start
You need your control panel login details. They are in the welcome email Hostvento sent when your hosting was set up. The email lists a username, a password and the panel address. If you cannot find it, check your spam folder or ask support.
Way 1: Use the client area
The client area is your account page with Hostvento. Many customers open their panel from here.
- Go to https://secure.hostvento.com/clientarea.php.
- Enter your email address and password.
- Click Login.
- Open the Services menu and click My Services.
- Click the hosting plan you want to manage.
- Look for a button named something like Login to Control Panel or Login to cPanel. Click it.
The button name can differ depending on your plan. If you do not see one, use Way 2.
Way 2: Use the panel address
- Find the control panel address in your welcome email.
- Type it into your browser's address bar.
- Enter the username and password from the email.
- Click Log in.
Tip: On cPanel, a common address is your domain name followed by
:2083. Example: https://example.com:2083. Use the address in your email if it is different.If you cannot log in
- Check for typing mistakes. Passwords are case sensitive.
- Make sure Caps Lock is off.
- Use the password reset link on the login page if there is one.
- Contact support. You can open a support ticket.
Keep your login safe
- Do not share your password.
- Use a long and unique password.
- Log out when you finish, especially on a shared computer.
