What you need
- A domain name. This is your website's address, such as
myblog.com. - Web hosting. This is the computer that stores your blog and shows it to visitors. Think of it as the land where you build your house.
- WordPress. This is free software that makes building a blog easy. You do not need to write code.
Steps
- Pick a topic for your blog. Choose something you enjoy writing about.
- Choose a short, easy domain name. Avoid hard spellings.
- Get a hosting plan and a domain from Hostvento. Your details arrive in a welcome email.
- Log in to your client area.
- Open your hosting control panel. The welcome email shows how.
- Find an app installer, such as Softaculous, and look for WordPress. If you cannot see one, ask support whether it is on your plan.
- Click Install.
- Choose your domain name. Leave the folder box empty so the blog loads on your main address.
- Enter a site name and an admin username. Pick a strong password.
- Click Install and wait a minute.
- Open
yourdomain.com/wp-adminin your browser. Log in with the admin details.
Set up your blog
- In the dashboard, click Appearance, then Themes. A theme is the design of your blog. Pick one and click Activate.
- Click Posts, then Add New.
- Write a title and some text.
- Click Publish.
- Visit your domain to see your first post live.
Tip: Also create pages like "About" and "Contact" from Pages, Add New. Visitors like to know who writes the blog.
