Change the Logo of Your AbanteCart Store

What is a logo setting?

A logo is the picture that shows your brand name or symbol. In AbanteCart you do not edit the theme files. You upload the picture into the admin area and tell the store to use it.

Before you start

• Prepare your logo as a PNG or JPG file.
• Make it about as wide as your theme header allows. A common size is a few hundred pixels wide. A pixel is one tiny dot on the screen.
• Give the file a simple name like mylogo.png, with no spaces.

Steps

1. Open your AbanteCart admin page in a browser. The address was set when you installed the store. It is often your domain followed by a custom admin folder or file.
2. Log in with your admin username and password.
3. In the top menu, click System, then Settings.
4. Open the Appearance tab.
5. Find the Store Logo field.
6. Click the small image box or the edit button next to it. The resource library opens.
7. Click the upload button and choose your logo file from your computer.
8. When the upload finishes, click your image in the list.
9. Click the button to use or select it.
10. Click Save at the bottom of the settings page.

Some AbanteCart versions have the logo option under Design, then Templates, then your template. If you cannot find it under Appearance, look there.

Check the result

1. Open your store in a new browser window.
2. Press Ctrl and F5 together. This forces the browser to load the newest version.
3. Look at the top of the page for your logo.

Other logos

The same settings page may also hold a logo for emails and a small icon for the browser tab. The tab icon is called a favicon.
