What is a cache?
A cache is a store of saved copies. X-Cart saves ready-made pages and compiled templates so your shop loads faster. It is like a pre-cooked meal in the fridge. The problem is that the copy can become old. You may change a design or a module, but the store still shows the older version.
Clearing the cache removes the saved copies. X-Cart then builds fresh ones.
Method 1: From the admin area
- Log in to your X-Cart admin area.
- Look in the main menu for System tools. In some versions it is under Store setup or a similar settings menu.
- Find the page for cache or Cache management.
- Click the button to clear the cache, or to re-deploy the store. Re-deploy tells X-Cart to rebuild its files from scratch.
- Wait until the process finishes. Do not close the page.
- Open your store in a new tab and press Ctrl and F5 together.
If you cannot find these items, use the search box in the admin menu. You can also ask Hostvento support or check the X-Cart documentation.
Method 2: Use the re-deploy page
X-Cart 5 can rebuild the store while the admin area is not working. Open the main file admin.php in your browser with an extra part added to the end of the address, which tells X-Cart to re-deploy. The exact address depends on your version, so read the X-Cart notes for your version, or ask Hostvento support first.

- The first load may be slow while X-Cart rebuilds its cache.
- Also clear your browser cache if you still see old pages.
- If your plan has server caching, ask Hostvento support how to clear it.
