Install AbanteCart with Softaculous

What are AbanteCart and Softaculous?

AbanteCart is a free tool for building an online store. You can add products, take orders and manage customers.

Softaculous is an installer inside your control panel. It sets up apps for you, like an app store on a phone. You click, and it does the hard work. Ask Hostvento support if Softaculous is on your plan.

Before you start

• Your domain must already point to your hosting.
• Decide on an admin username and a strong password.
• Use an email address you can open. You will get shop emails there.

Steps

1. Log in to your hosting control panel. Your welcome email has the login details. You can also use the client area.
2. Find Softaculous Apps Installer and open it.
3. Type AbanteCart in the search box.
4. Click AbanteCart in the results.
5. Click the Install Now button.
6. Choose your Protocol. Pick https:// if you have an SSL certificate. An SSL certificate keeps the connection to your site private.
7. Choose your Domain.
8. In In Directory, leave the box empty to install on the main address. Type a name like shop to install in a folder.
9. Enter an Admin Username, Admin Password and Admin Email.
10. Pick a language in the Select Language box.
11. Look at the other options. You can leave most of them as they are.
12. Click Install at the bottom.
13. Wait for the progress bar to finish. You will see the shop link and the admin link.

Log in to the admin area

Open the admin link Softaculous showed you. Type your admin username and password. You can now add products and change settings.

If something goes wrong

• If you get an error about a folder, the folder may already hold files. Use an empty folder.
• If you see the wrong page, clear your browser cache and try again.
