What is a currency setting?
A currency is the money your shop uses, like dollars or euros. AbanteCart lets you show prices in more than one currency. It uses exchange rates. An exchange rate tells how much one currency is worth compared with another.
One currency is your default currency. All other rates are set against it.
Before you start
Log in to your AbanteCart admin area. The address is the one you got when you installed the shop.

- In the admin menu, open System.
- Go to Localisation.
- Click Currencies.
You will see a list with each currency, its code and its rate.

- Type the Code. This is three letters, like

Edit a currency or its rate

- Change the value you need, such as the rate.

Change the default currency
- Go to System > Settings.
- Open the General tab.
- Find the currency setting and choose your new default.
- Click Save.
Warning: Changing the default currency does not change your product prices into the new money. Check your prices and exchange rates after a change. Take a backup first.
