What does the message mean?
cPanel is the control panel for your hosting account. It is made of many small parts. Each part is called a module. A module is like one app on a phone.
Some modules do not come from cPanel itself. Someone else wrote them, or changed a normal one. cPanel adds this note to warn you. It means the standard cPanel team does not support that part. The person or company who made it, called the maintainer, should help you.
The message is a notice. It does not mean your account is broken or hacked.
Where might you see it?
- On the page of a plugin added to cPanel.
- When you run a cPanel command that was changed by a plugin.
- In server messages after a custom tool was installed.
What to do
- Write down the exact name of the page or tool where you saw the message.
- Check if it works. If your task worked, you can ignore the note.
- If something is wrong, look for the plugin's own help page or support contact. The maintainer's name is often shown on the tool's page.
- Check whether you installed anything lately. A new plugin, theme or script is often the reason.
- If you cannot tell where it came from, open a support ticket. Tell Hostvento support the page name and what you were trying to do.
If you own a VPS or dedicated server
You have root access, the main administrator login. You can check what plugins you added. In WHM, search for Manage Plugins and also look at the plugins list. If you do not know a plugin, ask the person who set up your server before you remove it.
What to put in a support request
- The full message you saw.
- The page address or the command you used.
- The time it happened.
- A screenshot, if you can take one.
Quick recap
- The message means a module was added or changed by someone other than cPanel.
- It is a notice, not an error.
- The maintainer of that module gives support for it.
- Do not delete cPanel files to hide it.
- Ask Hostvento support if you need help finding the source.
