What is cPanel webmail?

cPanel is the control panel of your hosting account. It is like a dashboard. Webmail is a way to read email in a web browser. You do not need an email app. Your messages stay on the server, so you can reach them from any computer.

Steps: from cPanel

  1. Log in to cPanel. Your welcome email has the login details. You can also reach it from the Services menu in your client area.
  2. Find the Email section.
  3. Click Email Accounts.

  6. If asked, choose a webmail program. Roundcube is a good simple choice.
  7. Your inbox opens.

Tick the box to make it the default, if you want it to open without asking each time.

Steps: go straight to webmail

You do not need to log in to cPanel each time. You can sign in to webmail directly.

  1. Open your browser.
  2. Type your domain, then /webmail. For example, example.com/webmail. Some hosts also use port 2096. Your welcome email shows the right address.
  3. Type your full email address, such as name@example.com.
  4. Type that mailbox's password.
  5. Click Log in.

Using the inbox

  • Click a message to read it.
  • Click Compose to write a new email.
  • Click Reply to answer a message.
  • Use folders such as Sent, Drafts and Trash on the left.

If you forgot the password

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Open Email Accounts.
  3. Click Manage next to the address.
  4. Type a new password and click Update Email Settings.
Tip: Use your full email address as the username. A short name usually fails.

Still cannot sign in? Open a support ticket.
