What is Plesk?
Plesk is a control panel, a web page where you manage your hosting. Some hosting plans use Plesk, and some use cPanel. Ask Hostvento support whether Plesk is on your plan.
Email redirect, or forwarding, means a message sent to one address is also sent to others. It is like a post office that makes copies of your letter for several homes.
Steps
- Log in to Plesk.
- Click Mail in the left menu. In newer versions it may sit under your domain's tabs.
- Click the email address you want to change.
- Open the Forwarding tab.
- Tick Enable mail forwarding.
- In the box Forward to, type the target addresses. Put one address on each line.
- Choose if the mailbox should still keep a copy. Look for the option that keeps a copy of the message in the mailbox.
- Click OK or Apply to save.
Plesk may limit how many targets you can add. If you hit a limit, make a mailing group, as shown below.
Use a mail group for a bigger list
A mail group is one address that delivers to many people.
- Go to Mail.
- Open the tab named Mail Groups, or Email Aliases and Groups in some versions.
- Click Add Mail Group.
- Type a group name, for example
team. - Add the members. You can add addresses on your domain or outside it.
- Click OK.
Mail sent to team@yourdomain.com now reaches all members.
Test it
- Send a mail to the forwarded address from another account.
- Ask the receivers to check inbox and spam folders.
Stop forwarding
- Return to the Forwarding tab.
- Untick Enable mail forwarding.
- Click OK.
Tip: Menu names vary between Plesk versions. If you cannot find one, look for words like Forwarding, Groups or Mail.
Quick recap
- Plesk can forward one address to many.
- Open Mail, the address, then Forwarding.
- Put one target per line.
- Use a mail group for long lists.
- Test after saving.
