What is a PayPal subscription?
A subscription is an automatic payment that repeats on a schedule. You agree once, and PayPal pays the company again and again. This is also called an "automatic payment" or "billing agreement".
When you cancel it, PayPal stops paying. It does not cancel the service itself, and it does not by itself refund past payments.
Important: If you still want the service, cancelling the payment may cause it to expire. Check the due date in your client area before you cancel.
Steps on the PayPal website
- Go to the PayPal website and log in.
- Click the Settings icon near the top. It looks like a gear.
- Click the Payments tab.
- Click Manage automatic payments.
- Find the Hostvento entry in the list. Click it.
- Click Cancel, or Cancel automatic billing.
- Confirm by clicking Cancel Profile or the similar button.
- PayPal shows a message that the agreement is cancelled. You may also get an email.
PayPal sometimes changes its menu names. If you cannot find an item, look in your profile settings or use the PayPal help search.
Steps in the Hostvento client area
- Log in at https://secure.hostvento.com/clientarea.php.
- Open the Services menu and click My Services.
- Click the service you do not want to keep.
- Look for a cancellation or request option in the service page. If there is one, follow it.
- If you cannot see one, open a support ticket and ask for the service to be cancelled.
For questions about refunds or the exact end date, ask support. Do not assume a rule that you have not seen written.
Check it worked
- In PayPal, the entry should show as "Cancelled" under automatic payments.
- Watch your next invoice. It should not be paid automatically.
