Change Your Client Area Password

What is the client area password?

The client area is your account page with Hostvento. It is where you pay invoices, manage services and open tickets. Your password is the secret key to that page.

This password is not always the same as your hosting control panel password. They are two separate logins.

Why change it?

• You think someone else knows it.
• You use the same password on other sites.
• It is old or easy to guess.

Steps if you remember your password

1. Go to https://secure.hostvento.com/clientarea.php.
2. Log in with your email address and current password.
3. Click your name near the top right.
4. Click Change Password. In some versions the item is named Security Settings or sits under Edit Account Details.
5. Type your existing password.
6. Type your new password.
7. Type the new password again to confirm.
8. Click Save Changes.

Steps if you forgot your password

1. Go to the login page.
2. Click Forgot Password?.
3. Enter the email address of your account.
4. Click Reset Password.
5. Open your email and find the message. Check spam if it is missing.
6. Click the link inside it.
7. Type a new password twice and save it.

How to make a strong password

• Use at least 12 characters.
• Mix capital letters, small letters, numbers and symbols.
• A sentence of random words is easy to remember and hard to guess.
• Do not use your name, birthday or "password".
• Use a different password for every site.

If the reset email never arrives, open a support ticket. Never send your password in a ticket or email.
