What is a domain?
A domain is the name people type to reach your website, like example.com. Think of it as the street address of your house. Without it, visitors cannot find you easily.
The client area is the online account page where you manage your Hostvento services. You use it to order, pay and change things.
Before you start
- Think of two or three name ideas. Your first choice may already be taken.
- Keep your payment details ready.
Steps
- Open https://secure.hostvento.com/clientarea.php and log in.
- Click the Domains menu at the top.
- Choose Register a New Domain.
- Type the name you want in the search box. Leave out spaces.
- Pick an ending, such as
.com, if the page offers a choice. The ending is called the extension. - Click Check. The page tells you if the name is free.
- If the name is free, choose it and click Continue or Add to Cart.
- Pick how many years you want to register the name for. The price shown on the page is the price you pay.
- Click Checkout.
- Fill in or confirm your details and choose a payment method.
- Finish the order. An invoice is created.
- Pay the invoice. The domain is registered after the payment is received.
Tip: Short names with no hyphens are easier to remember and to type.
After you pay
Go to Domains and then My Domains. You will see your new name in the list. Registration can take a little time to finish. If it is still pending after a while, contact support.
If something looks wrong, open a support ticket.
If the name is taken
Try a different extension or change the words a little. Do not copy a famous brand name. That can cause trouble later.

- Search for the name and add it to your cart.
- Check out and pay the invoice.
- Find the domain later under My Domains.
