A quick reminder
Softaculous is an app installer inside cPanel. cPanel is the dashboard where you manage your hosting. With Softaculous, you can set up a website tool in a few clicks. The exact list of apps can change over time and may differ from server to server.
Main groups of apps
Blogs
Tools for writing posts and sharing news. WordPress is the best known. Others are also available.
Portals and CMS
CMS means content management system. It lets you build and manage a whole website without writing code. Joomla and Drupal are examples.
Online shops (E-Commerce)
Tools for selling things online, with a product list, a cart and checkout. Examples include WooCommerce (which works with WordPress), PrestaShop and OpenCart.
Forums
Places where people post questions and answers. Examples include phpBB, SMF and MyBB.
Image galleries
Tools for showing photos and albums.
Wikis
Sites where many people can write and edit pages together, like a shared notebook. MediaWiki is an example.
Customer support tools
Ticket systems and live chat tools that help you answer customers.
Learning tools
Systems for online courses and lessons. Moodle is an example.

How to browse the groups
- Log in to your client area at https://secure.hostvento.com/clientarea.php.
- Open your hosting service and log in to cPanel.
- Click Softaculous Apps Installer.
- Look at the menu on the left. Click a group name.
- Click an app to read about it.
- Click Install Now if you want it.
