Where Is the Search Box in Softaculous?

What is Softaculous?

Softaculous is an app installer inside cPanel. cPanel is the dashboard where you manage your hosting. Softaculous has a long list of apps, so a search box helps you save time.

Steps to find the search box

1. Log in to your client area at https://secure.hostvento.com/clientarea.php.
2. Open your hosting service and log in to cPanel.
3. Scroll down to the Software section, or type "Softaculous" in the cPanel search at the top.
4. Click Softaculous Apps Installer.
5. Look at the top bar of the Softaculous page. The search box is there, with the word Search in it.
6. Click inside the box.
7. Type the name of the app, for example WordPress.
8. Look at the list of results that drops down.
9. Click the app you want.

The layout can look a little different depending on the Softaculous theme. If you cannot spot the box, look at the top of the page, next to the logo or the menu icons.

Tips for better results

• Type only part of the name. Results show as you type.
• Search for the type of app, like forum, shop or gallery.
• Check your spelling.
• Clear the box and try a different word if nothing appears.

Other ways to find an app

1. Use the left menu to open a group, such as Blogs or Forums.
2. Click an icon on the home page for popular apps.
3. Use your browser's find tool. Press Ctrl + F on Windows or Cmd + F on a Mac and type the name.

If the app is not there

The list depends on your server. If an app you need is missing, ask Hostvento support through a support ticket.
