What is a .email domain?
A domain is the name of a website, like example.com. The ending, like .com, is called the extension. The word after the dot can be many things. The .email extension fits businesses that want a name linked to mail, such as newsletters and mail services.
Availability and price depend on the name you pick and on the extension. You will see the real price in your cart before you pay.
Before you start
- Pick two or three name ideas. Short names are easier to remember.
- Use only letters, numbers and hyphens.
- Have your contact details ready. Real details matter, because domain rules ask for correct owner information.
Steps
- Go to https://secure.hostvento.com/clientarea.php and log in. Create an account if you do not have one yet.
- Open the Domains menu.
- Click Register a New Domain.
- Type the name you want, followed by
.email, likemybrand.email. Click Search. - If the name is free, it shows as available. If it is taken, try another name.
- Click Add to Cart.
- Choose how many years to register for, if the choice is shown.
- Click Continue or Checkout.
- Check the cart. Look at the price and the options.
- Fill in or confirm your details, pick a payment method, and complete the order.
After you order
- You get an email about the order.
- Once payment clears, the domain is registered.
- Open Domains and My Domains to see it.
Some extensions need you to verify your email address. Check your inbox and spam folder. Follow the link inside soon, or the domain may be suspended.
What to do next
- Point the domain to your hosting with the name servers. These are like a signpost for visitors. Your welcome email lists the ones for your hosting.
- Set up email accounts in your hosting control panel.
Tip: Turn on the renewal reminders. A domain that expires can stop your website and email.
