What is an email account?
An email account is a mailbox with its own address and password. A mailbox is like a letterbox at your home. People send mail to the address, and you open the box with your password.
Plesk is a control panel, a web page where you manage your hosting. Your domain must be added to Plesk first.
Steps
- Log in to Plesk.
- Click Mail in the left menu.
- Click Create Email Address.
- Type the first part of the address, such as
info. The domain is added for you. - Type a strong password. Use letters, numbers and symbols. Save it safely.
- Leave the mailbox size at the default, or set your own limit if you wish.
- Click OK.
Read your mail
You have two ways.
- Webmail: a web page that shows your inbox. Click the small mail icon next to the address in Plesk, or open the webmail link from your welcome email.
- A mail app: use Outlook, Thunderbird or your phone's mail app. Your welcome email or Hostvento support can give you the mail server names and ports.
Change a password or remove an address
- Go to Mail.
- Click the address.
- Open the General tab to change the password.
- To delete, go back to the list, tick the box and click Remove.
Tip: Warning: removing an address can delete its stored mail. Save the mail you need first.
