Install CS-Cart Automatically Through cPanel

What is CS-Cart?

CS-Cart is software for building an online shop. You add products, take orders and manage customers with it. Installing it by hand takes many steps. An auto-installer does the hard work for you.

The most common auto-installer in cPanel is Softaculous. It is a tool that installs popular apps with a few clicks. Whether Softaculous and CS-Cart are on your plan depends on your setup. Ask Hostvento support if you cannot find them. Also note that CS-Cart can be a paid product, so you may need a license from its makers.

Before you start

• You need a domain name that points to your hosting.
• Back up any files already in the folder where you will install. The installer may overwrite them.

Steps

1. Log in to cPanel. The login details are in your welcome email.
2. Find Softaculous Apps Installer. It is often near the bottom of the page. You can also use the search box at the top.
3. In Softaculous, use the search box and type CS-Cart.
4. Click CS-Cart in the results.
5. Click Install Now.
6. Under Choose Protocol, pick https:// if your site has an SSL certificate. SSL is the padlock that keeps data safe.
7. Pick your domain.
8. Leave In Directory empty to install on the main address. Type a name such as shop to install in a sub-folder.
9. Type your shop name.
10. Set an admin username and a strong admin password. Write them down.
11. Type your email address.
12. Choose a language.
13. Click Install.
14. Wait for the progress bar to finish. Do not close the page.

When it ends, you see links to your shop and its admin area. The admin area is the back office where you manage products.

After installing

1. Open the admin link and log in.
2. Add your first product.
3. Turn on a payment method.
